The Group

Finmeccanica Group Services (FGS) is the Finmeccanica Group company specialized in the management of Shared Services and identifying Supply Chain management solutions.

FGS’ mission consists in contributing to the overall improvement of its customers’ performance, providing support in Procurement and Spend Management in “non-business critical” areas.

This mission is based on supporting the achievement of the following strategic objectives:

• value generation through the reduction of external costs and rationalization of invested capital;
• improvement of service levels;
• optimization of purchase processes and improvement of Total Cost of Ownership.

Over the years, FGS has developed specific expertise in the following spheres and made it available to Group companies and external customers:

• Category Management: through the detailed knowledge and management of market drivers and identification of the best players with which to sign framework agreements in order to guarantee the best quality levels and prices in the following categories: Business travel, Facility management, IT services and products, Telephony and data, Company fleets, Professional services, Production auxiliaries,Measuring instruments, Office furniture and products, Electrical and electronic components, Logistics, Energy and Gas and Global service.
• Demand management: through the design, development and implementation of streamlining projects regarding spending needs in the following areas: Logistics, Energy and Gas, Global service and ICT.
• E-procurement: by making the following available to its customers: Modular and integrable technology platform in support of procurement processes (RFX, e-auctions, e-catalogue). Training, assistance and specialized consulting services in managing online events.
• Professional services through diverse consulting activities, in particular the following: Supplier scouting and assessment, Spend Analysis, Strategic and operational sourcing, Procurement strategy, Procurement process re-engineering and Assistance and support for e-procurement services.

FGS currently operates in Italy, in its Rome headquarters, and in the USA, China and India through local offices, managing altogether:

• More than 430 framework agreements for a value of approximately € 700 million/year;
• More than 6000 online events for a value of approximately € 800 million/year;
• More than 1000 buyers trained in the use of the e-procurement platform;
• More than 4000 suppliers active on the e-procurement platform;
• More than 200 streamlining projects.

Coherent with the Group’s objectives of excellence, Finmeccanica Group Services has implemented a Quality Management System certified in conformity with international standard ISO 9001.
