The Finmeccanica Group present itself at the Air Show ready to face new challenges of a world which has changed: in the recent years worldwide scenarios have changed, and Finmeccanica is facing a market which has suffered significant shocks. Defence and Security market has undergone most important changes, the war theatres have become more numerous, and countries with important business prospects are now unapproachable.

The competitive environment to address these markets is becoming, consequently, more and more challenging.

Building the future is our task: these evolving circumstances have led Finmeccanica to pursue its international strategy towards emerging countries, while continuing to strengthen the presence in the three domestic markets, despite pressure on Defence Budgets.

Border control and security - physical and cyber security - requirements are increasing and Finmeccanica’s goal is to ensure safety, leveraging also on long term partnerships and continuous research in advanced technology.

Integration is our answer: Finmeccanica faces the world’s new challenges through different integrated solutions that are displayed in six exhibition areas within the Stand (Air Systems, Large Systems, Defence & Security, Cyber Security, Training & Support and Space), an outdoor static display and three Integrated Capabilities Areas, aimed to provide visitors with a real-time demonstration of how the Group integrated capabilities respond to concrete situations.

The three selected scenarios illustrate the Group’s ability to ensure safety during multinational military operations (Joint & Combined Defence Operations), to protect terrestrial and maritime borders (Homeland Protection), and to ensure the security during a major event (Securing Major Events).
