ASPIDE FAMILY
The ASPIDE 2000 missile is the powerful upgraded version of the ASPIDE multirole missile for use in surface-to-air systems.
Its operational performances have been sized to make the missile capable of engaging attacking aircraft before they can release their airborne stand-off rocket propelled missiles.
It can engage air threats at ranges well beyond all other short range SAM missiles already in production.
The ASPIDE 2000 is equipped with an enhanced single stage rocket motor to increase the missile speed, lateral acceleration and effective range by as much as 40% compared to the ASPIDE baseline missile.
It embodies all modern electronic features to improve its guidance characteristics and effectiveness in heavy clutter and ECM environments.
ASPIDE 2000 is compatible with all systems currently using the ASPIDE baseline missile (ALBATROS/ASPIDE, SPADA/ASPIDE and SKYGUARD/ASPIDE) by simply applying a modification kit to the systems at the second maintenance level, with complete reuse of the existing logistic support.
MISSILE CHARACTERISTICS
- Length: 3.7 m
- Diameter: 0.234 m
- Speed: High supersonic
- Intercept range: approximately 25 km
SPADA 2000 SYSTEM
Enhanced all weather air defence system for the protection of extended vital assets on the territory (air bases, ports, industrial plants, main buildings).
With the use of the powerful ASPIDE 2000 semi-active missiles, the intercept coverage of the System is well in excess of 25 km in all directions, thus preventing launching air platforms from releasing their airborne ordnance and PGMs at shorter range.
The reference system configuration consists of:
- A Detection Centre, for tactical operational control
- 2 Firing Sections (expandable to 4)
- 1 or 2 Missile Launcher(s) per Firing Section
The Detection Centre embodies the Search and Interrogation Radar and the Operational Centre into a single shelter.
The Firing Section is based upon the Fire Control Centre (including the Tracking and illumination Radar and the Control Unit) and the Missile Launchers, each with 6 ready-to-fire missiles.
Both the Detection Centre and the Firing Sections can be deployed around the defended object, up to 10 km relative range, to maximise the air defence in accordance with the required protection level.
Easy to relocate by truck, train or by aircraft (C-130 fully compatible), the system can integrate and co-ordinate additional VSHORADS and anti-air artilleries(up to 10) deployed within a 10 km range from the Detection Centre.
In addition, it can be connected to a higher-level Air Defence Centre.
The System is in service in Spain and Italy.
ASPIDE 2000 missile
- Area intercept coverage well over 25 km radius
- Well proven in all weather conditions and ECM environments
- Possibility to integrate other light weight anti-air weapons
ALBATROS SYSTEM
Naval surface-to-air missile system
Well proven, all weather and highly ECM resistant naval system designed to counter aircraft, UAVs, helicopters at sea, as well as sea skimming and diving anti-ship missiles and PGMs.
The system is available with three versions of launcher (four, six and eight cells) to suit ship fitting requirements.
Two missile versions can be supplied with the system:
- the standard ASPIDE for point defence
- the ASPIDE 2000 for limited area or consort ships defence
The concept of the ALBATROS system is to add missile capability to naval OTOMELARA 76/62 gun fire control systems for combined use of missiles and artillery, without duplicating the tracking sensors or the operator's work-station.
The ALBATROS system can be integrated with the NA-30 type Fire Control System based on the ORION/RTN-30X tracking radar in single or double tracker configurations.
The Continuous Wave (CW) transmitter provides the RF power necessary for the missile guidance that is radiated towards the targets through the Fire Control System tracker antenna.
The system is in service in 16 countries worldwide, on various classes of warship, from OPVs up to destroyers and aircraft carriers.
