Finmeccanica designs, develops and produces missile systems, torpedoes, naval artillery and armoured vehicles. 

The group operates in the sector via the joint venture MBDA (BAE Systems 37.5%, EADS 37.5% and Finmeccanica 25%), Europe's biggest missile systems producer, and via its directly-owned subsidiaries OTO Melara, a producer of armoured vehicles and naval and land-based artillery, and WASS, world leader in torpedoes.
