Alenia Aereonautica | |
The Alenia Aeronautica mission is to conceive, design, build and certify
military and commercial aircraft and mission systems, including the rapidly
growing field of unmanned air vehicles.
Alenia has built over 12,000 aircraft and since its founding in 1912 it has
contributed significantly to aeronautical progress, both directly and through
international collaborative programmes.
Some of the world's most sophisticated aircraft, including the Eurofighter
Typhoon, C-27J, ATR42MP and ATR72 ASW, are built in Alenia plants. Over 6,000
commercial aircraft fly with Alenia aerostructures.
The company is one of the few with experience of the entire aircraft life
cycle and can therefore act as prime contractors. Alenia participates in the
design and manufacture of the new generation Airbus A380 and Boeing 787
airliners. Its Aeronavali subsidiary is a major player in the aircraft
conversion business.
