One of the most significant aspects of the know-how developed by SELEX Sistemi Integrati is the VTMS network (Vessel Traffic Management Systems). This is a unique system of its kind for handling coastal maritime traffic and port movements, and is of vital importance in EEZ applications (Exclusive Economic Zone) and Homeland Security.
 
In Italy, the VTS system has been purchased by the Coast Guards and has already been installed in the main Italian ports (including Bari and Genoa). Once the project for an integrated network of more than forty systems has been completed, the whole Italian coastline will be covered.
