SELEX GALILEO is the new name under which Galileo Avionica SpA and SELEX Sensors & Airborne Systems Ltd will operate internationally  with their outstanding reputation in the fields of sensors, electro-optics, electronic warfare and tactical UAVs.
 
The name SELEX GALILEO will enable the companies to trade as world leaders in integrated solutions for airborne sensors, surveillance and protection systems, radar and imaging.
 
Part of the Finmeccanica Group, the two companies have a combined workforce of 7,000 employees (about 4,000 in the UK) with a turnover of around 1,730 million euros.
 
Their fields of excellence include: aircraft radar sensors (mechanical and electronic scansion) - electronic warfare systems - avionics and mission systems - electro-optical systems - military lasers - simulators - pilotless aircraft and target planes - sensors and scientific payloads for space.
