AnsaldoBreda builds high-speed trains, diesel and electrical locomotives, double-decker electric trains, Electric Multiple Unit (EMU), Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU), modern driverless metro and Sirio modular trams. In its Naples and Pistoia plants the company uses leading edge equipment to develop new products and undertake inspections and upgrades of existing vehicles.
 
AnsaldoBreda has operating divisions in the USA with AnsaldoBreda Inc., France, Norway and Denmark. Its products are in service on four continents and in four Italian regions. The company was created by merging an Ansaldo Trasporti division with Breda Costruzioni Ferroviarie, one of the world's best known mechanical engineering companies.
