AnsaldoBreda is the Finmeccanica specialist in the manufacture of technologically advanced rolling stock for railway and urban transit systems that represents the state of the art under both the mechanical and the electrical aspects.

AnsaldoBreda builds complete trains, high-speed trains, diesel and electrical locomotives, double-decker electric trains, Electric Multiple Unit (EMU), Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU), single and double-decker passenger cars, subway cars and Sirio trams. In its Naples and Pistoia plants the company uses leading edge equipment to develop new products and undertake inspections and upgrades of existing vehicles.

AnsaldoBreda has operating divisions in the USA, France, Norway and Denmark. Its products are in service on four continents and in four Italian regions. The company was created by merging an Ansaldo Trasporti division with Breda Costruzioni Ferroviarie, one of the world?s best known mechanical engineering companies.
