ERTMS/ETCS | |
The European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) has two systems: board and wayside.
ERTMS combines automatic train protection and train control with the possibility of enhanced network capacity through more efficient traffic management.
The system, conceived with different application levels, is installed on all new railway lines, and in particular those on the High Speed network, but it can also be overlapped with existing signalling systems on conventional lines.
