The IC4 diesel trains were designed for the Danish Railway which uses them for the intercity service.

The project led to reductions in journey times, higher levels of comfort, extreme reliability, low running and maintenance costs as well as a low environmental impact.

Reaching top speeds of 200 km/h and thanks to the aluminium structure of the chasse general performance is increased.


The design was studied in cooperation with Pininfarina and provides passengers with a pleasant and very comfortable environment.

The train is equipped with: air conditioning, public audio/video information systems and displays for reserved seats, reclining seats with a PA system.
