BredaMenarinibus has developed a new generation of sophisticated electric minibuses powered by ZEUS M 200 E batteries.

The design is based on a new traction system using lithium-ion batteries instead of lead-acid ones, giving these minibuses a range of about 120 km. In addition, the overall weight has been reduced by more than 600 kg, improving the performance considerably in terms of speed, acceleration and uphill thrust, making these minibuses more suitable for urban traffic in large towns and cities.

Changing the batteries involved redesigning the minibus's whole traction system which now has a more powerful, liquid-cooled electric motor (AC) and an inverter control system employing IGBT technology developed by Ansaldo Trasporti. This new generation of electric minibuses ZEUS is a good example of collaboration between companies in the Finmeccanica Group, of which BredaMenarinibus is part.
