WASS offers a complete range of light- and heavyweight torpedoes, torpedo counter-measures for surface vessels and submarines, active/passive shipboard and helicopter sonar, countermine and underwater surveillance equipment.

It controls 50% of Eurotorp, the consortium with DCN and Thales that designs and builds the world's most advanced lightweight torpedo system
A wholly owned subsidiary of Finmeccanica, WASS can boast nearly 130 years of success. It traces its origins to 1875, when Robert Whitehead established a torpedo factory in Fiume. The company relocated to Livorno in 1945.
