Rimini, 10.29.2006
"For his ability to come to terms with the tangible effects of
globalisation on the Italian entrepreneurial system, through his outstanding
prestige and competence, achieving ambitious goals and promoting the
competitive development of the aerospace and defence industries with a balanced
and innovative approach, backed by corporate social responsibility."
This brief but succinct citation explains the reason for the gold medal to be
awarded to Pier Francesco Guarguaglini by the President of Italy.
The prestigious award ceremony will take place at Rimini's "Teatro
Novelli" on October 29, the third and final day of the International Study
Days. This event, now at its 32nd edition, is organized as usual by the Pio
Manzù Centre, an international research institute with general consulting
responsibilities for the United Nations.
During the proceedings, awards are made to personalities who are considered
praiseworthy for their efforts on behalf of progress and social solidarity. The
title of this year's edition is "La vita in bilico" (Life in the
balance), and the aim is "to analyse the uncertainties that loom over
humanity, strongly affecting balanced development and international
relations."
The award ceremony - with live TV coverage on the Raidue channel from 10 to
midday - will take place during the plenary session (starting at 9.30am) in the
presence of leading international figures from institutions, the cultural world
and the academic community.
