Raikkonen and Massa fly on a C-27J | |
Thursday 14 February 2008
World champion Ferrari drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Felipe Massa, took a
flight yesterday on one of our C-27Js.
They did so in order to attend the inauguration of the photo exhibition
"An Extraordinary Life. The Avvocato's Century", now at Turin's cinema
museum until March 16. The two Grand Prix drivers, unable to resist the lure of
flying, took a trip on our "champion" C-27J. Travelling with them was
the Ferrari sports manager, Stefano Domenicali.
The three Ferrari members were accompanied by Captian Agostino Frediani, head
of flight operations, and Marco Venanzetti, chief test pilot. The plane took
off from Bologna for the short flight to Turin. Once they had arrived, all
three showed their enthusiasm. "Great aircraft! Fine performance! The C-27J
is a real success for Italy and Turin."
It is worth noting that Finmeccanica, in particular Alenia Aeronautica, and
Ferrari have been collaborating for years in several technological sectors
where the two companies have common interests, such as aerodynamic studies and
data transmission.
