A NEW MINDSET: 5th MANAGEMENT CONVENTION

Finmeccanica's 5th Management Convention took place yesterday, November 30, at the new Trade Fair Centre in Rome.
 
The day's proceedings were particularly rich and interesting. Participants were welcomed to Rome by three institutional figures of significant standing: Nicola Zingaretti, president of the Rome province; the mayor of Rome, Gianni Alemanno; and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Franco Frattini.
 

Finmeccanica Group presents 2008 Sustainability Report

Finmeccanica today presented its second Sustainability Report, an information tool which, using appropriate indicators, can measure the Group's economic, social and environmental performance in 2008. The aim of the report is to give an account of the intangible value of the company, as generated by indicators that are not strictly financial, such as the company's role in society, its ability to attract the best talent, the attention to health and safety, the environment and sustainable development, the commitment to the social and cultural fields, the corporate ethics.

The moon is forty years old

On the night of July 20-21, 1969, hundreds of millions throughout the world (on TV and radio) followed the culminating moments of the Apollo 11 mission that took two men, Neil Armstrong and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin, for a walk on the surface of the moon.
In Europe, the live TV broadcast of the moon landing was made possible thanks to Telespazio's antennas at Fucino.
