LEONARDO and FINMECCANICA, AN ONGOING RELATIONSHIP 6-8 december 2006 - Washington Following the successful gala evening at the National Gallery in London to
mark the occasion of the Farnborough Airshow in July, our company decided to
organise a special event in the United States, "exporting" for the
first time one of the finest examples of Leonardo da Vinci's genius - the
preparatory drawing for the "Adoration of the Magi".

INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 13-21 october 2006 - Rome, Auditorium-Parco della Musica There are so many points of contact between Rome and the cinema world. The
Cinecittà studios, "la dolce vita", neo-realism and the National Cinema
School, not to mention dozens of films recounting the feats of ancient Rome and
the hundreds of films which have had, and continue to have, the Eternal City as
their setting.

RESTORATION work on the doors to the Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e
dei Martiri "It took me a long time to accept the proposal to make the two doors of
the basilica, because releasing the energy that this sort of project deserves
seemed to me an impossible task. It was a torment but, at the same time, highly
tempting. How could a contemporary sculptor hope to do justice to the sacred
art in the city which is the largest museum of masterpieces in the
world?".

AMEDEO MODIGLIANI Rome, Vittoriano Complex, February 24 - June 20, 2006 They called him Modì, with an accent most likely resulting from his long
sojourn in Paris, and in many stressed the assonance by adding the word, French
again, maudit, the accursed, owing to his artist's temperament in which were
amalgamated, as happens, charm and turbulence, both of which he possessed in
extraordinary quantities.

THE MITO & VELOCITA' Exhibition The exhibition Myth & Speed, held in the fabulous setting of the Tsar's
Stables at the Kremlin in Moscow between 27th January and 12th February 2006,
had all the requisites of a major event. The organisers were the ICE (Italian foreign trade institute) and the
Italian national association of automobile industries. The aim of the

industries, including aerospace, component manufacturing, logistics,

VOYAGE AMONGST THE STAR Technology and Imagination exhibition To travel in space is a dream many people have: a desire which perhaps the
future, thanks to the continual encouraging progress in aerospace technologies,
will make a reality for a growing number. A small, land-based taster of what might then be the scenario was offered by
the Voyage amongst the stars. Technology and Imagination exhibition, which the
Lazio Region, Aeronautica Militare, the European Space Agency and Finmeccanica
organized in Rome at the Vittoriano Complex from December 11, 2004 to February
13, 2005.

DEA ROMA, a sculpture by Igor Mitoraj The full lips, clean but delicates lines, and immobile stillness of
classical sculpture. Polish artist Igor Mitoraj described the Dea Roma
sculpture, donated by Finmeccanica to the Eternal City, as "an ideal bridge
between the city's past and future". The statue was installed in the public gardens at Piazza Montegrappa on 16
September 2003. It is 6 metres by 4 metres in size, weighs 120 tonnes, and
depicts a woman's face clearly inspired by classical art. It is made from
travertine stone from Tivoli, which is also classical and harmonises perfectly
with the city setting.

THE "ENGINEERS OF THE RENAISSANCE": from Brunelleschi to Leonardo da
Vinci exebition A timeless pearl amongst pearls of Italian culture, the Renaissance is one
of those historical and artistic times which most excites international
attention. So it is no surprise that the The Engineers of the Renaissance: from
Brunelleschi to Leonardo da Vinci exhibition, which glorifies its incredible
capacity to look ahead by blending intuition and dream, project-oriented force
and imagination, should have aroused huge interest throughout a large part of
the world, encountering success as it passed through Paris, New York, London
and Tokyo, then to be finally staged at a prestigious Italian location.

RESTORING the RIACE BRONZES One could say, perhaps slightly tongue-in-cheek, that the warm sentiments
that Finmeccanica feels for the Riace Bronzes derive from the fact they are
both examples of Italian excellence that go far beyond the borders of the
Belpaese. There is no doubt that the restoration work on the two 5th century
B.C. statues, found on 16 August 1972 in Calabrian waters, was an operation of
cultural patronage with a remarkable resonance, whose significance has become
of crucial importance to the international archaeological fraternity.

CENTENARY OF FLIGHT "Turin 2003" A story still with plenty of future, which is experiencing an important
date, the completion of a century - and rightly the celebrations that go with
it - before starting off again with the enthusiasm and knowledge that it has
many more goals ahead of it. It is from this perspective that it seems appropriate to take a look at the
celebrations organized just about everywhere (and for Italy, in Turin) on the
occasion of one hundred years since that.
