13 - 16 march 2008 - Roma, Auditorium Parco della Musica
Finmeccanica is an industrial group strongly committed to supporting
development and research. This year too, the Group is taking part in the
Mathematics Festival held in Rome at the "Auditorium Parco della
Musica", March 13-16, 2008.
The event is now at its second edition, and includes conferences, meetings,
exhibitions and other activities, under the title "Queen of Sciences and
Arts".
"After the success and great interest aroused by the first edition of the
Mathematics Festival," says Pier Francesco Guarguaglini, chairman-CEO of
Finmeccanica, "we are pleased to be here again and to play our part in an
initiative that celebrates a discipline such as mathematics, the foundation of
all sciences on which modern technologies are based. Industry depends on
analysis, calculation, and the application of logic and modelling systems - all
of which provide support in solving problems."
Finmeccanica is the number-one Italian industry operating globally in the
sectors of aerospace, defence and security, and one of the chief operators in
the helicopter and defence electronics fields, with important production assets
and consolidated skills in energy and transport. And the Group owes its success
to competitiveness, technology and innovation.
This is why Finmeccanica invests more than 1.7 billion euros (14% of
revenues) every year on R&D activities, making it the main Italian investor
in the high technology sector.
