Finmeccanica at the DSEi Exhibition

11.9 - 14.09.2007

London

From September 11-14, Finmeccanica and several Group companies took part in the annual event "Defence Systems & Equipment International Exhibition and Conference" (DSEi), one of the leading international trade fairs in the defence and security sectors, held at the ExCel centre in London.

Taking part in the DSEi is a major opportunity to demonstrate the results achieved by Finmeccanica's ongoing investment in the development of technologies and advanced systems for use by naval and land forces, as well as for security purposes.

Finmeccanica presented leading-edge products from some of the Group companies such as Agusta Westland, Elsag Datamat, Galileo Avionica, Oto Melara, Selex Communications, Selex Sensors & Airborne Systems, Selex Integrated Systems and WASS.

For this year's DSEi, Finmeccanica also took advantage of Italian military experts who explained and demonstrated operational aspects of the many systems displayed on the stand, for the benefit of guests and visitors.

The institutional and military presence at this year's edition was especially notable with more than seventy delegations from Italy and other countries. In particular, the Italian delegations included visits by General Gianni Botondi, Secretary General of Defence/DNA, Senator Lorenzo Forcieri, Undersecretary for Defence and Senator Di Gregorio, President of the Senate Defence Commission. The UK representation included delegations headed by Lord P. Drayson, Parliamentary Undersecretary & Minister for Defence Procurement, and by Alan Garwood, Head of Defence Export Services.

On the opening day, Finmeccanica held a reception on board the frigate HMS KENT attended by more than 150 guests in the presence of the Navy Chief of Staff, Admiral Sir Jonathan Band.
