Although Le Bourget, near Paris, is well-known as the site of the famous aerospace salon, Euronaval, as the name clearly indicates, is an event devoted to the sea and marked by a strong international character emphasized by its subtitle: International Naval Defence and Maritime Exhibition and Conference.
 
The 2008 edition, scheduled for October 27-31, is the twenty-first version of a trade fair that is a leader in the sector of naval defence. Since 2002, it has widened its range to include spheres such as maritime security and satellite navigation, thus consolidating a prestige that the present figures - 345 exhibitors, 85 delegations from 66 countries, and 400 accredited journalists - clearly indicate.
 
Beginning this year, as further confirmation of its potential, the Euronaval has introduced new services devoted to business-to-business (actually, the entire event is reserved for trade operators). This is intended to favour contacts between the various interlocutors, not only exploiting the network of commercial relations and partnerships that are the essence of Euronaval, but also offering the possibility of making products known to a vast, expert public.


Finmeccanica is present with a team of five companies - Oto Melara, SELEX Communications, SELEX GALILEO, SELEX Integrated Systems and WASS - who share 460 square meters on two floors. The ground level is devoted to products and systems that testify to the degree of technological innovation achieved, while the upper floor hosts various rooms for encounters and meetings.
 
Regarding Euronaval's three basic areas of interest, Finmeccanica's participation at the fair is focused particularly on supplying solutions for maritime security and also complete defence systems, with special emphasis on the ability of the Group to offer not only a complete range of products for naval defence but also to integrate its proposals in order to supply solutions precisely calibrated to the needs of the end user.
