Finmeccanica at FIAA 2008

14.10 - 17.10.2008

Madrid

The ninth edition of the Feria Internacional del Autobus y del Autocar (FIAA) is being held from October14-17 at the Madrid Trade Fair Centre. This event, which started in 1992 and which takes place every two years, is certainly the leading exhibition in Spain for public road transport, and one of the most important internationally.

The eight previous editions (from 1992 to 2006) clearly show the growth of the exhibition since the first edition fourteen years ago - the number of exhibitors has increased nearly fourfold (from 42 to 156) with five times the number of participating companies (from 56 to 282), while the number of visitors has gone up from 1,651 to 10,508 in 2006, all of whom are trade visitors or media representatives. With its focus on buses and coaches, FIAA is rapidly gaining an international reputation as shown by increasing media coverage.

For an event of this type which focuses on technological innovation in the sector, participation by BredaMenarinibus was a foregone conclusion. This Finmeccanica company, leader in Italy for collective urban transport, is taking part in FIAA with a display of four vehicles.

To demonstrate its ability to provide avant-garde solutions for all requirements in the public transport sector, BredaMenarinibus has a stand of more than 600 square metres, not only to welcome visitors but also to strengthen its identity as a Finmeccanica company.

The display includes several vehicles of different sizes and types such as the Avancity+, fitted with a new onboard electronics system; two examples of the Vivacity+ line, suitable for transport in situations of restricted viability (such as old city centres); and the electric-powered Zeus minibus whose design makes it the ideal solution for towns and cities, especially in terms of low environmental impact.
