For Finmeccanica, Turkey is a country to be given close attention with a view to establishing strategic industrial collaboration aimed especially at the domestic market as well as the possibility of exploring joint export opportunities in Europe and the NATO area.
 
Proof of this are the recent orders obtained by Alenia Aeronautica, Agusta Westland and Telespazio - an achievement that is part of the long-standing relationship Finmeccanica has been able to establish with the Turkish armed forces, for the supply of helicopters and defence electronics.

It is not surprising that the Group is present in force at IDEF 2009, the salon devoted to the international defence industry that the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation has organized from April 27-30 at the Tüyap Trade Fair & Congress Centre in Istanbul.
Now at its ninth edition, the Turkish exhibition embraces every segment of defence activity and constitutes, with more than 450 exhibitors, an important event for the entire area.

Finmeccanica will be in Istanbul with eight firms - AugustaWestland, Alenia Aeronautica, Oto Melara, SELEX Communications, SELEX Integrated Systems, Telespazio, Thales Alenia Space and WASS - and will occupy an exhibition area of 650 square metres enabling visitors to see that IDEF is composed exclusively of those involved in the sector, and also the quality and technological level of the solutions it provides for a growing number of markets.
