Finmeccanica take part at the Dubai Airshow from 15 to 19 November. The Italian group, world leader in the aeronautics sector, will be present through its companies Alenia Aeronautica (aircraft, aerostructures), Alenia Aermacchi (trainer aircraft), AgustaWestland (helicopters), SELEX Communications (secure communications solutions) and SELEX Galileo (avionics, radar, UAV), which will display their capabilities in the aeronautics sector.

This year Finmeccanica one again took part in one of the most important international events regarding defence and security, the Defence Systems & Equipment International Exhibition and Conference (DSEI), held at the ExCeL centre in London.
The exhibition was held from September 8-11, and the companies involved were able to make contact with delegations from around the world, providing an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and experience, forming a basis for further growth in this market.

This year Finmeccanica was once again the main sponsor of the Meeting for Friendship Among Peoples, organized by Comunione e Liberazione, held from August 23-29 at the Rimini congress centre.
"Knowledge is always an event" was the theme of the thirtieth edition of this meeting which, over the years, has welcomed thousands of people, especially the young, and seen hundreds of speakers from all over the world discussing culture, religion, politics, sport and industry.

 FINMECCANICA at Le Bourget 2009

This year as usual, Finmeccanica is taking part in the Paris Air Show, to be held at Le Bourget, June 15-21. The 48th edition will be marked by celebrations for the centenary of the first Exposition Internationale de la Locomotion Aérienne in 1909.
Starting out as a small motor show in 1908, Le Bourget has grown into what is now the world's most important event for the aerospace and defence sectors. The previous edition of the air show in 2007 had 550,000 square metres of display space, with 363 chalets for nearly 2,000 exhibitors, and more than 770,000 visitors from more than 60 countries.

 FINMECCANICA at the UITP Exhibition

The 58th edition of the IAPT exhibition, held very two years, organised by the International Association of Public Transport took place in Vienna, June 8-11.
The Finmeccanica stand displayed innovative technologies put forward by AnsaldoBreda, Ansaldo STS, BredaMenarinibus and Elsag Datamat, regarding trams, minibuses with zero emission, and "driverless" metro trains, as well as security systems and equipment for handling and monitoring public transport and rail traffic.

 FINMECCANICA in Turkey for IDEF 2009

For Finmeccanica, Turkey is a country to be given close attention with a view to establishing strategic industrial collaboration aimed especially at the domestic market as well as the possibility of exploring joint export opportunities in Europe and the NATO area.
Proof of this are the recent orders obtained by Alenia Aeronautica, Agusta Westland and Telespazio - an achievement that is part of the long-standing relationship Finmeccanica has been able to establish with the Turkish armed forces, for the supply of helicopters and defence electronics.

 FINMECCANICA at LAAD 2009

Finmeccanica took part in the seventh edition of LAAD- Latin America Aero and Defence - which was held at the Riocentro convention centre in Rio de Janeiro from 14 to 17 April 2009.
Finmeccanica has had an active role in the Brazilian defence market since 1970 supplying equipment, systems and services. These have included the AMX tactical support aeroplane, the MB-326 advanced training aircraft, helicopters, military and civil radar systems, Aspide missiles, avionic systems, fire control systems, communication systems and satellite telecommunication services.

 FINMECCANICA leads the field at Sat Expo Europe 2009

The 2009 edition of Sat Expo Europe is being held at Rome's new trade fair centre (Fiera di Roma) from 19-21 March. This is a key event in the aerospace and satellite sectors for the Mediterranean area - its natural focus - and it also demonstrates the important role played by Italy which is highly competitive in the aerospace sector and one of the main interlocutors for the European Space Agency.
