Le Bourget 2005: benefit concert at Paris's Opèra Garnier | |
Beyond the confines of the business, which is nevertheless its indisputable
driving force, Finmeccanica's participation in the forty-sixth exhibition of
the Paris Air Show also stood out for an activity of powerful, varied
communication which crossed music with the areas of solidarity.
The culminating event of Le Bourget 2005 was indeed the concert which, on June
15, saw the main attraction - the Orchestra Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini,
directed for the occasion by the maestro Georges Prêtre (whilst another great,
Lorin Maazel, is its founder and musical director) - in the sparkling setting
of Paris's Opéra Garnier. It was a memorable cultural and society occasion in
which an orchestra made up of young musicians of the highest standard, and
only three years old with an artistic repertoire that has no fear of
competition, thrilled the public by producing stirring performances of the
music of Giuseppe Verdi and Hector Berlioz.
Finmeccanica dedicated the evening to the National League against Cancer, an
independent French organization involved in fighting tumors through research,
prevention and supporting patients.
Considerably greater also in terms of exhibition space and reception, the
presence of Finmeccanica at what is the most important and coveted engagement
for companies in the aerospace sector saw the implementation, moreover, of a
number of communications initiatives: from putting up a website focused on the
Paris Air Show to the satellite channel devoted entirely to the event: a
complete novelty which made it possible to share, in real time, what was going
on at the show and which met with great success.
