Privacy information
The methods used for handling site users' personal information are described below. This information is provided in compliance with art. 13 of the Privacy Law, Legislative Decree no. 196/2003, to people interacting with Finmeccanica's web services accessible via internet at : www.finmeccanica.it This document provides information on the data in question, how Finmeccanica handles it, and how users can exercise their legal rights as interested parties. Party in charge of handling the information The party in charge of handling personal information is FINMECCANICA S.p.A., with registered offices in 00195 Rome, Piazza Monte Grappa n. 4. The person in charge of handling personal information is the Head of the Communications and Image Department. Location where data is handled The handling of data for the purposes of the web services offered on this site is carried out at the offices of Finmeccanica and of third parties designated as responsible for handling data and by technical personnel in charge of processing the information, or by people performing occasional maintenance work. An up-to-date list of people who handle personal information (individuals, companies and organisations) and their addresses is available from the Central Human Resources Office . No information deriving from the web service will be disclosed or published. Personal information provided by users submitting requests for information or applying for employment ("curriculum vitae", etc.) shall be used solely for the purpose of providing the service or for the purpose of candidacy for the position, and shall be provided to third parties only if necessary for this purpose. Methods for handling information Personal information is handled using automated tools for the amount of time strictly required to achieve the goals for which it is collected. Specific security measures are applied to prevent loss of data, illicit or incorrect use and unauthorised access. Types of data handled and purposes of treatment Browsing data The information systems and software procedures involved in the operation of this web site acquire, during the course of regular operations, certain items of personal information from users who connect to the site ; transmission of this information is implicit in the use of internet communication protocols. The information in question is not collected in order to be associated with specific users, but could by its very nature allow the identification of these users as a result of processing and association with information held by third parties. This category of information includes IP addresses or domain names of computers used by users who connect to the site, addresses of the required resources in URI (Uniform Resource Identifier) notation, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the server's response (successful, error, etc.) and other parameters pertaining to the user's operating system and information technology environment. This information is used solely for the purpose of obtaining anonymous statistical information on the use of the site and to check that it is functioning correctly. The information could be used to ascertain responsibility in the case of information technology offences committed against the site: except in this case, information on web contacts is currently not held for more than seven days. Information volunteered by users Sending e-mail to the addresses indicated on this web site entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender's e-mail address, required to respond to requests, and any other personal information included in the message. Specific summarising information will be reported or displayed on certain pages of this site which may be prepared for providing specific services on request. Cookies No personal information on users is acquired by the site by means of cookies. Cookies are not used to transmit personal information, and no so-called persistent cookies of any kind or user tracking systems are employed. Use of so-called session cookies (which are not permanently stored in the memory of the user's computer and disappear when the browser is closed) is strictly limited to transmission of session identifiers (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) necessary to permit secure, effective exploration of the site. The so-called session cookies used in this site avoid the need for use of other data processing techniques which could have a negative impact on the confidentiality of users' browsing and do not permit acquisition of personal information identifying users. Optional nature of requests for information With the exception of browsing data, the user is free to provide the personal information specified in contacts with Finmeccanica in order to request the sending of informative material or other communications or to participate in services provided through the site. If this information is not provided, it may be impossible to provide the requested services. Users' rights Parties who provide personal information have the right to obtain confirmation of the existence or non-existence of such information in the possession of the party in charge of the treatment in question and to obtain information on the content and origin of the information, to check its accuracy and to request that it be supplemented, updated or corrected at any time ( art. 7 of decree no. 196 of 2003 ). Under the same article, users have the right to request deletion, transformation into anonymous form or blocking of data handled in violation of the law, or to object to the handling of the information under any circumstances on legitimate grounds.
