Within the context of the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) activities, which are increasingly important for the leading industrial groups in their relations with stakeholders, Finmeccanica Group Services is responsible for four areas of intervention for the Holding Company and the Companies in the Finmeccanica Group:
 
1. Due Diligence and Audit: the liabilities inherent in environment, health and safety are identified and assessed for the purpose of providing tools for assessing the property risk, business risk and site life cycle risk through Phase I Environmental Desktop Studies, Phase I Environmental Site Assessment, EHS Audit, Risk Assessment and Negotiation Support activities;
 
2. Environmental Sustainability Projects: protection of the environment, and health and safety at the workplace are an important value for all companies in the Finmeccanica Group and for the Corporate company; the environmental projects proposed and implemented by Finmeccanica Group Services fall within this context and in line with the pursuit of the greatest possible cost effectiveness. The governance activities and the coordination of projects aimed at recovering and assessing waste and waste from electric and electronic equipment, enforcement of the Emission Trading Directive, the environmental characterization of sites, water saving and recovery and the Group Environmental Insurance fall within this sector of intervention;
 
3. Communication: communication within the Group and towards the stakeholders, the sharing of objectives and results from the viewpoint of a proactive and innovative approach to basic EHS themes constitutes an underlying element as far as achieving these objectives is concerned. In this context, the Group Environmental Report, currently being drawn up, is the key feature of this strategy designed to improve the Group's credibility and reputation, assess the environmental interventions and gain competitive advantages.
Within this framework, Finmeccanica Group Services promotes workshops at Group level on specific topics to do with fundamental EHS themes and, consistent with the guidelines of the Holding Company's relevant function, designs and produces information and PR tools relating to health and safety in the workplace;
 
4. Consultancy: Finmeccanica Group Services provides the Group's companies with support and consultancy on basic themes relating to environment, health and safety, analyzing the legal, economic and image impact of new regulations, supporting the Group's companies in creating environment, health and safety management systems, designing special systems and providing support to the Accident-Prevention and Protection Service of the Corporate company's bases.
